About Us

Welcome to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Hamilton County!

CCE-Hamilton is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization and is part of the Cooperative Extension land grant system, a partnership between County, State, and Federal governments that is administered across New York State through Cornell University. Cornell Cooperative Extension has served Hamilton County for over 42 years!

Each county's Cooperative Extension association is independent and works to serve the needs of the county in which it is located. Our programs and events are developed in response to community needs and interests, and are based on the most current information available from Cornell and other Land Grant universities from across the nation.

The mission of Cooperative Extension is to enable people to improve their lives and communities through partnerships that put experience and research knowledge to work. Here in Hamilton County, we connect people with the resources and information they need on topics such as gardening, food and nutrition, home energy efficiency, environmental issues,  and more. While we provide public education and outreach, including some classes and events on many of these topics, our staff is small and many topics are covered exclusively on this website.

Please don't hesitate to call or visit our office. We welcome your ideas and involvement in our efforts!
